The Hiboy ECOM 14 is a utility scooter, offering both seated and standing riding modes although seated is definitely the primary focus. Unlike most scooters it actually has a rear rack and basket for carrying cargo! The 450 watt hub motor has decent torque for hill climbing and can get you up to a top speed of 22 mph (35 km/h), but it's also very loud which isn't pleasant to listen to on long rides. It's highly adjustable and should fit a wide range of riders, plus it folds down for storage. It's not very portable; even in the folded position it's still difficult to carry, mostly because it weighs 57 pounds (26 kg). This scoot is definitely designed for city streets and would struggle on rough terrain due to the lack of suspension and very low deck clearance.

Varla's popular Eagle One scooter is back and better than ever with version 2.0! It's marketed as a "powerful off-road scooter" and it certainly is powerful, rocking two 1,000 watt motors for a combined peak wattage of 3,200 and 76 newton-meters of torque. Suffice to say, this scoot is one heck of a hill climber! It does well off-roading too, but I would honestly call this more of a do-anything hybrid scooter; the wheels are only 10" in diameter, so even with good suspension (which it has) off-road riding is still a bit jarring. The Eagle One V2.0 actually excels on city streets, with enough acceleration to keep pace with traffic easily, a high deck for good visibility, and an excellent loadout of lights.

Yadea is a big name in the electric scooter space and the ElitePrime is a prime (heh) example of why! Durable premium construction, amazingly comfortable polymer shock absorbers, intuitive lighting & signaling systems... there's a lot to love about this scooter, and we haven't even mentioned the impressively zippy motor yet. It is on the pricier side, and some features aren't quite dialed in yet - we're looking at you, buggy Yadea smartphone app - but all things considered this scoot is definitely worth a closer look.

Yadea's scooters are very sleek and refined in appearance and the KS6 Pro is no exception; every bit of the design looks intentional and clean as can be. There's almost no visible cabling, the scooter folds easily and securely, lighting is integrated high up where people can actually see it, and the triple redundant braking system is strong and smooth. Yadea is a major player in the electric scooter space (including big ones that you sit on) and their expertise really shows, especially when you actually ride one; they're just generally smoother and more intuitive to operate than a lot of competing products.

YUME's Hawk is an impressive beast, boasting dual 1200-watt motors that could probably climb up a vertical wall if the tires were sticky enough! It's fully kitted out with commuting accessories such as lights, signals, and an obnoxiously loud horn, and the programmable-color running lights look especially slick. It does fold but with no latching mechanism and a curb weight of over 80 pounds this is definitely not an easy scooter to carry around or store in an apartment. Capable of reaching speeds of 43mph and equipped with dual suspension, hydraulic disc brakes, and a steering damper, so you can actually go that fast in a relatively safe fashion!

It almost feels silly to call this 90-pound behemoth a scooter, but I don't know what else to call it! This beast is ruggedly constructed with an impressive amount of suspension travel, capable of riding over (or up) anything you throw at it. It's also pretty rough around the edges, with a sketchy bolt-on battery securing mechanism, and a seatpost mount point that protrudes from the middle of the rear footrest... but it's still a ton of fun to ride. This is definitely intended for off-road adventures, although it does include bright lights for use on city streets, but no turn signals or horn.
