Yadea is a big name in the electric two-wheeler space, making everything from small kick scooters to monster motorcycles, and selling over six million units in 2020. This Chinese manufacturer was established in 2001 and has seven production facilities in China. They sell globally in over 80 countries, but roughly 95% of their sales are in China, and they only entered the US market in 2023. They are currently the largest manufacturer of electric scooters.
Yadea puts a lot of emphasis on the quality and safety of their products; I've only tested two of their scooters so far, but I was impressed with the overall safety of their design. Check out my Yadea ElitePrime Review to see what I'm talking about. They're also fairly ahead of the curve with new technology adoption, with smartphone app integration that has a lot of promise but (at the time of writing this) is a bit rough around the edges for us English speaking folks. That's probably my biggest misgiving regarding Yadea; everything about their website, marketing materials, and product manuals says "we're a Chinese company that doesn't understand the US consumer yet." But hey, they just got started here, and they do make some quality products... so I'm optimistic they'll improve over time.
Yadea's warranty is pretty "meh" as warranties go, at least in most of the world. In the Americas, Asia, Africa, and Oceana, you get anywhere from three months of coverage (for wear-and-tear parts) to one year of coverage for main components like the frame. I was concerned to see that the battery is only warrantied for six months... that's not very long, especially for a component that should last at least two or three years with good use. If you live in Europe you at least get an extended two year warranty on the frame and motor, but everything else is the same as other countries.
Yadea has a global dealer network, but it seems surprisingly small; I was only able to count 20 on their Dealer Locator, with none of those being in North America. That means the only way to get your hands on one of their products is to order it online, which to me is a bummer because you can't test ride it first. It's tough to drop hundreds or thousands of dollars on something sight unseen!
Yadea is a big name in the electric scooter space and the ElitePrime is a prime (heh) example of why! Durable premium construction, amazingly comfortable polymer shock absorbers, intuitive lighting & signaling systems... there's a lot to love about this scooter, and we haven't even mentioned the impressively zippy motor yet. It is on the pricier side, and some features aren't quite dialed in yet - we're looking at you, buggy Yadea smartphone app - but all things considered this scoot is definitely worth a closer look.
Yadea's scooters are very sleek and refined in appearance and the KS6 Pro is no exception; every bit of the design looks intentional and clean as can be. There's almost no visible cabling, the scooter folds easily and securely, lighting is integrated high up where people can actually see it, and the triple redundant braking system is strong and smooth. Yadea is a major player in the electric scooter space (including big ones that you sit on) and their expertise really shows, especially when you actually ride one; they're just generally smoother and more intuitive to operate than a lot of competing products.
